In line with this commitment, AWL Agri Business has adopted and revitalized a 19,000-square-metre public park located opposite ICB Flora Apartment in Gota, Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Under the agreement, AWL will support the maintenance and upkeep of the park for the next five years, ensuring that it continues to serve as a vibrant and welcoming space for the community.

A Green Space Designed for the Community

The park has been thoughtfully enhanced to cater to visitors of all age groups. Surrounded by lush greenery, it features landscaped gardens, diverse varieties of shrubs and trees, a children’s play area, jogging tracks, gazebos, and drinking water facilities. Beyond its recreational value, the park also contributes to improving urban biodiversity and promoting a healthier environment for local residents.

The initiative reflects AWL’s belief that sustainability extends beyond manufacturing facilities, supply chains, and products. It is equally about investing in the well-being of the communities where we operate and helping create environments that support healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Giving Plastic Waste a Second Life

One of the most distinctive aspects of this project is the incorporation of circular economy principles into public infrastructure. As part of the park’s development, AWL recycled 1,100 kilograms of post-consumer Fortune packaging waste and transformed it into 43 durable benches installed across the park.

This initiative demonstrates how plastic waste, when responsibly collected and processed, can be repurposed into useful community assets. The benches stand as a visible reminder that sustainability is not only about reducing waste, but also about finding innovative ways to reintegrate materials back into everyday use.

By converting used packaging into practical infrastructure, AWL is showcasing how circularity can move beyond concepts and become a tangible reality that benefits both people and the environment.

To mark the occasion, AWL’s senior leadership team joined AMC officials and local corporators for a Green Walk through the park. The event also included a tree plantation drive and sapling distribution among visitors, encouraging citizens to actively participate in greening their surroundings.
